Resumen
El presente estudio tiene por objetivo explorar los procesos de adaptación a la pandemia de un
grupo de adultos mayores de Lima Metropolitana. La investigación se desarrolló bajo una
perspectiva cualitativa. Se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad a 8 adultos mayores, sus edades
oscilaron entre los 69 y 90 años. A través del análisis fenomenológico se identificó que este
grupo tiene una actitud positiva frente a la vida, aceptación a las limitaciones que surgen en la
vejez y a su vez recursos, en términos familiares y económicos, que han contribuido a que la
adaptación a la situación actual sea más llevadera y hallen así, una manera de acomodarse y
continuar con sus actividades y labores. Los resultados evidencian que hubo un impacto inicial
en este grupo de adultos mayores, pero que han podido adaptarse a la pandemia, y que tienen
motivación para seguir aprendiendo cosas. Los procesos de adaptación referentes a este grupo
etario aún no está estudiado a profundidad en Perú, por lo que la presente investigación
contribuye a cimentar las bases de la línea investigativa.
The present study aims to explore the processes of adaptation to the pandemic of a group of elder adults in Lima. The research was developed from a qualitative perspective. In-depth interviews were conducted with 8 older adults, their ages ranged from 69 to 90 years. Through the phenomenological analysis, it was identified that this group has a positive attitude towards life, acceptance of the limitations that arise in old age and in turn resources, in family and economic terms, which have contributed to adaptation to the current situation be more bearable and thus find a way to settle in and continue with their activities and work. The results show that there was an initial impact on this group of older adults, but that they have been able to adapt to the pandemic, and that they are motivated to continue learning things. The adaptation processes referring to this age group have not yet been studied in depth in Peru, so this research contributes to laying the foundations of the research line.
