Resumen
El presente documento constituye el planeamiento estratégico para la empresa
minera Gran Colombia, para el período 2019-2028, usando el Modelo Secuencial de
D’Alessio (2015). El objetivo es identificar las actuales fortalezas y oportunidades de la
empresa, buscando diseñar ventajas competitivas para la misma. Buscando este fin, se
definió la visión, la cual es el eje principal de nuestra investigación. Para poder alcanzar la
visión propuesta, es necesario el desarrollo de actividades, principalmente orientadas hacia
la producción, los costos, la gestión del personal y los conflictos sociales.
A nivel interno, Gran Colombia tiene diversas fortalezas, entre las que resalta el
equipo de profesionales que compone la empresa, su reputación frente a sus proveedores y
el prestigio que se ha ganado la empresa a lo largo de los años. Entre las debilidades se
encuentra que las mediciones que realiza la empresa de su gestión están en niveles básicos,
la separación del área de planeamiento con las operaciones y que no se cuenta con un área
de capacitación. El potencial para desarrollar nuevos negocios de la empresa y su capacidad
de generar ventajas competitivas, resaltan como sus fortalezas. Del lado de las
oportunidades se identificó que Colombia (como país) cuenta con una legislación favorable
para el desarrollo de la industria minera y el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos mineros. Sin
embargo, así mismo se tienen amenazas, como la existencia de conflictos sociales
asociados a la minería, además de la fluctuación continua del precio de los minerales en el
mercado internacional. La presente investigación pretende exponer el rumbo que debe tomar la empresa, el
cual debe orientarse hacia el convertirse en la principal empresa minera de oro y plata en
Colombia.
This document constitutes the strategic planning for the mining company Gran Colombia, for the period 2019-2028, using the Sequential Model of D’Alessio (2015). The objective is to identify the current strengths and opportunities of the company, seeking to design competitive advantages for it. Seeking this end, the vision was defined, which is the main axis of our research. In order to achieve the proposed vision, it is necessary to develop activities, mainly oriented towards production, costs, personnel management and social conflicts. Internally, Gran Colombia has various strengths, among which the team of professionals that make up the company, its reputation with its suppliers and the prestige that the company has earned over the years stands out. Among the weaknesses is that the measurements that the company makes of its management are at basic levels, the separation of the planning area with the operations and that there is no training area. The potential to develop new business for the company and its ability to generate competitive advantages stand out as its strengths. On the opportunities side, it was identified that Colombia (as a country) has favorable legislation for the development of the mining industry and the development of new mining projects. However, there are also threats, such as the existence of social conflicts associated with mining, in addition to the continuous fluctuation of the price of minerals in the international market. This research aims to expose the direction that the company should take, which should be oriented towards becoming the main gold and silver mining company in Colombia.
