Abstract
El objetivo del presente estudio es describir y analizar la relación entre las dimensiones de la
percepción parental y la sintomatología depresiva en escolares de secundaria de dos colegios
en Lima, Perú. La muestra estuvo conformada por 103 adolescentes, entre 12 y 15 años de
edad. Se les aplicó grupalmente una adaptación de la escala de “Adolescent Family Process”
(AFP) para conocer la percepción de las funciones parentales y la adaptación del Inventario
de Depresión Infantil (CDI) para la sintomatología depresiva. Los resultados muestran que
existe una relación inversa entre las dimensiones de la función parental y la sintomatología
depresiva; especialmente en la comunicación, la cercanía y el soporte de los padres. Por otro
lado, se encontró una relación directa entre la sintomatología depresiva y la percepción de
conflicto. Asimismo, se encontraron diferencias de género en la percepción de conflicto
materno, siendo las mujeres quienes presentan mayor percepción de conflicto con la figura
materna.
The aim of this study is to describe and analyze the relationship between the dimensions of parental perception and depressive symptomatology in students of secondary grade in two schools located in Lima, Peru. The sample consisted of 103 adolescents between 12 and 15 years old. As a group, they completed an adaptation of the “Adolescent Family Process” (AFP) scale to investigate the perception of the parental functions and the adaptation of the Inventory of Infant Depression (CDI) to explore depressive symptomatology. Results showed that there is an inverse relationship between the dimensions of parental perception and depressive symptomatology; especially in parent’s communication, closeness and support. On the other hand, it was found a direct relationship between depressive symptomatology and the perception of conflict. Furthermore, gender differences were found in the perception of maternal conflict, with women showing a higher perception of conflict with the maternal figure.
