In the last decade, the commercial aviation sector has played an important role in the development and sustainable growth of Peru. In fact, they have scale up at the same pace. This activity has helped to improve and facilitate connections within the country and, at the same time, put Peru at a leading position in South America, visible to the world. Moreover, the geostrategic position of Peru and the steady increase of tourism to the country, due to its prominent cultural, historical, culinary heritage and its biodiversity, have been key drivers of its sustained growth. However, although domestically the tourism activity has shown upward, the failing infrastructure and the lack of direct airline connections among the main cities of Peru hinder the full potential of the sector, specially, in light of the new business profile of the emerging Peruvian market. This study analyzes the commercial aviation sector of Peru and compares it with key leaders in South America and the world, finding gaps and opportunities for improvement. Similarly, it evaluates its major internal stakeholders, seeking advancements in the interaction thereof. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the sector internally and externally to identify critical factors for improvement and expansion, attaining a domestic airport network of integration, enhancing the services offered therein, as well as addressing the existing concentration of the Peruvian airline market to date. The quality of service and its continuous improvement are fundamental to achieve the desired future of this Peruvian sector in the years to come.
