Abstract
Mental health is a crucial component of well-being that often does not receive the necessary attention. In Peru, there has been a significant increase in stress, anxiety, and depression levels, especially among young people and adults, with a widespread lack of adequate treatment. The conditions and access to mental health services are inadequate, exacerbating this growing problem, compounded by the recent pandemic's impact. In response to this challenge, an entrepreneurial initiative has been developed as a business proposal aimed at improving access to mental health services in the country through digital solutions. This proposal connects patients with mental health specialists and ensures well-being, privacy, confidentiality, speed, and quality in the defined treatments. Additionally, it introduces innovative virtual approaches, such as algorithms for more precise specialist assignments and therapies to positively influence users' moods, parallel to traditional therapies. It should be noted that the proposal complies with current legal and regulatory regulations for mental health treatment in the country, and technology and interactive digital media allow the project to scale nationally and in regions where mental health issues are prominent. The project has a dual purpose: generating economic benefits through the services offered and improving the mental health and quality of life of Peruvians. From a social perspective, it aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: “Good health and well-being Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”, offering both individual and collective benefits. It addresses an urgent need at a time when mental health has become essential for societal well-being. Finally, in economic terms, the estimated economic net present value (NPV) is approximately $811,529 and the estimated financial net present value is $746,008 with an internal rate of return (IRR) of 76.74% and 87.49% respectively.
