The Aprendo en Casa strategy has been a pedagogical tool of the Ministry of Education of Peru to provide continuity to the educational service in the distance mode during the period of social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This qualitative research has as its object the Bilingual Intercultural Education School N°64 933 of the Shenontiari native community, which represents a typical rural school in the Peruvian Amazon. The findings reveal that the directors of the Local Educational Management Unit (UGEL) of Atalaya adopted the strategy in compliance with the guidelines, but with difficulties in terms of financial, human and material resources. Teachers and students had limited access to the education strategy due to the digital divide and scarce media. Parents and leaders appreciated the strategy as irrelevant to the reality of their communities. Despite the shortcomings identified, positive attitudes and actions have been discerned among the various actors in the educational community. This case study describes and analyses the challenges and opportunities in the adoption of the strategy by the UGEL of Watchtower, the adequacy of the contents, the reception and implementation by teachers, the access of students and the perceptions of parents and leaders of the native communities.
