Resumen
El objetivo principal de la presente investigación es explorar la relación entre los estilos de
liderazgo y el compromiso organizacional. El estudio se realizó con colaboradores del rubro
bancario. Participaron 147 trabajadores del área de microfinanzas, pertenecientes a distintas
posiciones. Para recoger la información, se usó la escala MLQ-5X versión corta (Bass y
Avolio, 1997) y la Escala de Compromiso Organizacional (Meyer, Allen y Smith, 1993). Los
resultados muestran que todos los estilos de liderazgo presentan una correlación significativa
con el compromiso organizacional, siendo el estilo transaccional el que presenta el mayor
efecto dentro de esta muestra.
The main goal of the current investigation is to explore the relationship between leadership styles and organizational commitment. This investigation was done with workers from the bank sector. There were 147 participants, all from the microfinance area, but from different positions. In order to obtain information, the MLQ-5X short version scale (Bass and Avolio, 1997) and the Organizational Commitment Scale (Meyer, Allen and Smith, 1993) were used. The results shows that all the leadership styles have a significant correlation with organizational commitment, being the transactional style the one with greatest effect in this sample of executives.
