Abstract
Peru is one of the leading countries in the textile industry in the region, being the largest clothing exporter in Latin America. The loss produced by the industry affects our country, according to the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA), at the national level 2,952,000 tons/year of solid waste are generated, of which 1.61 % is equivalent to textile waste and 60% comes from Metropolitan Lima. In addition, it is forecast that this figure will double in 20 years due to the lack of laws and regulations that regulate the disposal of waste and the little interest of companies in contributing to the environment. In this paper we propose a solution to the problem where there is a lack of reuse of textile waste. It is proposed to develop an innovative, different and quality product that reduces the waste that the textile industry generates, it provides an option for conditioning facilities and soundproofing places like cinemas, theaters, nightclubs, offices, etc. After analyzing the market, it can be determined that this type of acoustic material is not produced locally. The foreign market is successful with these products because of their biodegradable acoustic absorption properties and low production cost. When analyzing the cash flow, a NPV of US$ 1,095,027.51 is projected, so the project proves to be profitable. Finally, we conclude that this project is not only financially profitable, but that it will help the environment with a 5% reduction in textile waste that currently ends up in rivers and unauthorized landfills.
