This study aimed to explore and describe the development of the life project in a group of teenage mothers who decide to resume their schooling. Therefore, from a qualitative approach, 8 semi-structured interviews were conducted with young mothers between the ages of 17 and 19 belonging to a low socioeconomic sector in Lima. The results show that authoritative or passive communication within families, perceiving sexuality as a taboo subject and repression around the couple and friends, are possible predictors of an unplanned pregnancy; which occurred in all participants of this study. Also, early motherhood will accelerate the process of maturation and sense of responsibility in young women, by having a dependent child; so the resumption of the life project will be viable from the support of their families and conceiving education as a central element for its elaboration.
