Planeamiento estratégico para el sector farmacéutico multinacional en Colombia

Resumen
El sector farmacéutico en Colombia complementa uno de los considerados pilares de
la sociedad, el sector de la salud, que en los últimos 20 años ha sufrido cambios importantes
que han afectado de muchas formas a la sociedad colombiana y que aún hoy sigue
presentando una gran dinámica en términos de regulación que generan cambios importantes
en su estructura e interacción. Dentro de este gran sector fueron identificados dos
subsectores, el Farmacéutico Multinacional, que son todos aquellos laboratorios
multinacionales que se dedican a la investigación, desarrollo y comercialización de nuevos
medicamentos y que son agremiados por AFIDRO, y el Farmacéutico Nacional que son los
laboratorios nacionales que dedican su esfuerzo a producir y comercializar medicamentos
genéricos. Sin pensar que este último es menos importante, hemos dedicado este trabajo a los
agremiados por AFIDRO porque encontramos importantes oportunidades de mejora y un
potencial muy interesante de desarrollo que podrán ofrecer un mayor aporte económico y
social en Colombia. Con esa idea, este trabajo pretende generar unas propuestas a manera de
estrategias, que surgen del desarrollo de un Planteamiento Estratégico y que buscan atender la
visión y los objetivos fijados al año 2020.
Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, iniciamos nuestro proceso estratégico haciendo un
detallado análisis de todas las variables internas y externas que afectan al sector, que nos
permitió priorizar y fijar objetivos de corto y de largo plazo y que por el camino de las
diferentes herramientas y matrices finalmente nos permitió trabajar con siete (7) estrategias
retenidas y otras ocho (8) de contingencia que le permitirían al sector lograr alcanzar dichos
objetivos. Estos objetivos planteados pretender fortalecer a la industria mediante el
mejoramiento de procesos, desarrollo de nuevos productos y servicios, establecimientos de
importantes alianzas estratégica con variados e importantes sectores como el de la educación,
y el trabajo conjunto en la generación de políticas de salud pública con el gobierno. La correcta implementación de estas estrategias, acompañada de un adecuado control
y seguimiento puede llevar a posicionar al sector como un actor clave en el desarrollo
económico y socio político en Colombia, que busquen resaltar fortalezas, aprovechar las
oportunidades que se presentan, mejorando y previendo debilidades y amenazas.
The Colombian Pharmaceutical Industry is complementary with the Health Sector, which is considered to be one of the pillars of society. This sector has undergone various significant modifications during the last 20 years, affecting in many ways Colombian population. Even today, the Health Sector presents a tremendous dynamic in terms of regulation generating important changes in its structure and interactions. Within this great sector, two subsectors may be identified: the Multinational Pharmaceutics, which are all the multinational laboratories dedicated to investigate, develop and market of new medicines unionized by the AFIDRO; and the National Pharmaceutics, understood as the national laboratories that bent their effort in producing and marketing generics medicines. Without considering as unimportant or less relevant the latter, this work has been focused on those unionized by the AFIDRO as important opportunities of improvement and interesting development potential that will offer a greater social and economic income for Colombia has been found. Taking into account this idea, the present work aims to generate a series of strategic proposals that rise from the development of a Strategic Approach intending to assess the vision and contemplated objectives of the year 2020. Considering the stated above, we will begin our strategic process by closely analyzing all the internal and external variables that may affect this sector allowing us to prioritize and fix objectives on short and long-term. On the way of various tools and matrices, it finally allowed us to work with seven (7) withheld strategies and eight (8) of contingency that will enable the sector to reach the above objectives. These settled objectives intend to strengthen the industry by means of improving processes, developing new products and services, establishing important and strategic alliances with various and significant sectors such as the Educational Sector; and the joint work in generating public health policies in partnership with the government. The accurate implementation of these strategies, along with an adequate control and tracing, may position the Sector as a key actor in the socio-politic and economic development in Colombia. This sector should highlight the strengths and exploit the opportunities presented in order to improve, foreseeing weaknesses and threats.
