Actitudes negativas hacia personas trans e intolerancia a la ambigüedad en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana

Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo principal conocer si existe una relación entre las actitudes negativas hacia las personas trans y la intolerancia a la ambigüedad por parte de estudiantes de primeros ciclos de las carreras de ciencias y letras de una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana. Asimismo, se buscó saber si existía una relación entre los constructos en cada una de las facultades y si había diferencias en el grado de actitudes negativas hacia personas trans entre hombres y mujeres inter e intra facultades. Para ello, se realizó un estudio cuantitativo de corte correlacional y descriptivo, utilizando la Escala de Actitudes Negativas hacia Personas Trans (EANPT) y la Escala de Tolerancia a la Ambigüedad (MSTAT-II) a un total de 167 estudiantes. Los resultados revelan la existencia de una relación directa entre ambos constructos, sobre todo en estudiantes hombres de primeros ciclos de las carreras de ciencias. Esto podría deberse a sus estilos cognitivos pues, por lo general, presentan una sistematización más fuerte que las mujeres, que tienen una tendencia más a la empatía.This research aimed to know if there is a relationship between negative attitudes towards trans people and tolerance to ambiguity by students of the first cycles of the careers of science and letters of a private university in Metropolitan Lima. Likewise, it was sought to know if there was a relationship between the constructs in each of the faculties and if there were differences in the degree of negative attitudes towards trans people between men and women between and within faculties. For this, a quantitative study of correlational and descriptive cut was carried out, using the Scale of Negative Attitudes towards Trans People (EANPT) and the Scale of Tolerance to Ambiguity (MSTAT-II) to a total of 167 students. The results reveal the existence of a direct relationship between both constructs, especially in male students in the first cycles of science majors. This could be due to their cognitive styles since they generally present a stronger systematization than women, who have a more empathy tendency.
