Abstract
sociedad.

This paper presents the results of a descriptive study, whose objective was to determine the impact of good corporate governance practices on the generation of financial value, based on a sample of 11 mining companies of coal and metallic minerals in Colombia. A questionnaire was designed based on a literary construct and subject to a qualificable effect. The results presume the impact that Corporate Governance has on the financial value in these companies, capable of forging economic benefits, greater profitability and influencing the creation of financial value. Corporate Governance is not just a normative concept, it becomes the seal of guarantee, quality and reputation not only of the management but of the company itself, it motivates to incorporate its resources to its growth and development. Based on the above and on the development of this document, it is clear that mining companies seek to evolve towards a concept that, although for obvious reasons, is still quantitative, incorporates qualitative elements represented in the control, ownership, rights, Managerial duties and responsibilities, which affect the results of the company, but especially the interest groups, minority shareholders and the same company. Keywords: Corporate Governance, financial value, profitability, exploitation, metallic minerals, coal
