general
Over the past 10 years Peruvian agricultural business have been supported by a major diversity of weather conditions which allows the country to produce greater goods than the northern hemisphere countries. This advantage had led Peru to a solid exportations growth of 14% during the last year, mainly driven by non-traditional products such as grapes, quinoa, asparagus, banana and blueberry. In fact, these results have been consolidating Peru as one of the most important references in terms of non-traditional products commercialization which delivers a huge opportunity to extend penetration and diversification on existing markets and the opening of new commercialization routes. Moreover, the future of Peruvian agroindustry holds a very good appeal. However, the country still needs to work on achieving a greater competitiveness among other countries. In this matter, infrastructural gaps is one of the most critical issues, not only because its actual conditions generate higher logistic costs, but also negatively impacts farming productivity due to underdeveloped irrigation systems. Furthermore, the farming landlord’s fragmentation withholds strong difficulties for industry growth due to the lack of organization and low productivity levels. The elaboration of this document had let us discover and adequate guidance for the development of the industry. Through the internal and external analysis and the evaluation of the organizational interests, a Vision and Mission had been set up in order to achieve short, middle and long term objectives proposed through the entire plan. An accurate execution of the strategies will drive the country to overpass the identified gaps and continue to build sustainable growth, due to exportations increase, lower poverty rates in rural zones and the increase of the country´s wellbeing in general.
