The purpose of this research was to find about the relationship between alcohol expectancies and binge drinking in (N=139) college students, with an average age of 18.09 (DS =1.15), from a private college in Lima Metropolitana. Moreover, the study identified the most important variables around the sample and found out if sex have influence in alcohol consumption and alcohol expectancies. For this aims, the research used a sociodemographic questionnaire, an alcohol consumption poll named Alcohol Consumption (CA) (Arana, 2013) and an Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire (AEQ), originally created by Brown, Christiansen & Goldman (1987) and adapted for Colombian adults population in a Spanish version: AEQ III (Herran & Ardila, 2007). Results showed a significant positive, direct and little correlation between binge drinking and positive alcohol expectancies (p<0.05), except with increase of assertiveness; in addition, the results indicated that sex had a significant difference in expectancies to increase the power and in prevalence of binge drinking (p<0.05).
