A través de esta publicación titulada: La reconfiguración del fenómeno del narcotráfico en Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador y Perú, la red brinda su tercera contribución académica, con tan solo tres años de formada, en la que participan un conjunto de distinguidos académicos. La obra contiene, entonces, seis estudios particularmente interesantes y valiosos, elaborados por José F. Rocabado (Bolivia), Antonio Jorge Ramalho (Brasil), Jaime Baeza Freer y María Cristina Escudero Illasces (Chile), Eduardo Pastrana Buelvas y Diego Vera Piñeros (Colombia), Diego Pérez Enríquez (Ecuador) y Jaime A. García Díaz (Perú). En ellos, los autores analizan la evolución y situación actual del tráfico ilícito de drogas en sus respectivos países; las conexiones existentes con redes del narcotráfico en países vecinos; las instancias y mecanismos de cooperación con países limítrofes; así como un conjunto de recomendaciones para el fortalecimiento de la lucha contra esta seria amenaza a la seguridad. De esta manera, la Red de Política de Seguridad continúa sus trabajos, por tercer año consecutivo, formulando propuestas académicas concretas que contribuyan a la cooperación y a la posterior conformación de una comunidad de seguridad entre nuestros países, tarea sin duda compleja y difícil por las particularidades existentes en cada país, pero a la vez necesaria e importante, si queremos contar con Estados democráticos seguros y en paz.
