En un contexto de crecimiento poblacional y urbanización acelerada en la ciudad de Lima, se han dejado de lado las políticas e instrumentos de gestión que se enfoquen en el tratamiento de los Espacios Públicos. A ello se suman los altos niveles de contaminación y las desigualdades socioeconómicas que aparecen como una de las principales externalidades negativas de este crecimiento poblacional. En este contexto, la existencia de parques se convierte en la alternativa más viable para considerarlos como Espacios Públicos de una ciudad debido a su disponibilidad y la presencia de áreas verdes. El presente artículo busca analizar la correlación entre la calidad de los parques como Espacios Públicos y el nivel socioeconómico del distrito de Santiago de Surco. A lo largo del artículo se analiza en diferentes niveles o escalas (distrital, sectores y parques seleccionados) y se utilizará una metodología mixta a partir de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) y encuestas estructuras para la caracterización socioeconómica y la percepción de estos usuarios, respectivamente.
