Between 2014 and 2015 the Junín Region has had the highest rates of economic growth in the country, registering up to 12% and 16.7% respectively. This shows the great potential for development that exists in the region. However, these growth rates originated by mining projects are mainly not enough to improve the quality of life of the residents of the Junín Region, since it is necessary to elaborate long-term strategies that allow achieving the integral development of the region, prioritizing the human and economic development. The present strategic planning for the Junín region, has been elaborated under these guidelines, whose main objective is to achieve in a sustainable way the human and economic development of the region, having with key results areas the educational quality, the provision of services of quality health, economic development through productive diversification, reformulating traditional economic activities into non-traditional ones, since they generate greater market value and improving the competitiveness of the region, following the sequential model of strategic planning prepared by Professor Fernando D'Alessio (2015). The results obtained from this strategic planning indicate that, despite the adversities of the environment and internal management deficiencies of the region, Junín has sufficient potential to be qualified within the ten most competitive regions of Peru. This requires following a strategic process that adds value to their comparative advantages, transforming them into competitive advantages
