Fondo Editorial, 2008-03-29) Mondaca, Carlos
This paper aims to explain and analyze how certain contradictionis manifested in the social identities in the population of the Andeanhighlands of Arica during the process of implementing the post-PacificWar education, specially in its act of incorporating the policies ofthe Chilean education in these territories when there was a renewedresidue of Peruvian citizenship in the everyday act of this Andeanpopulation (currently, northern Chile). In characterizing this process of socio-political and socio-culturalmixtures, I intend to discuss two points: first, that beyond the processitself, there was since before the occupation a Chilean idea of modernityimplemented by a liberal ideology that permeated the wholenineteenth century Peruvian society. Second, that there was a disputeof an education beyond the nationalities in conflict as an articulatingaxis. Since there was a clear involvement of local schools to theirdesignated Andean spaces, I suggest using the idea of modernity thatcould support this proposal.

Fondo Editorial, 2012-12-28) Rolando, Giancarlo
The State makes itself present in its citizen’s everyday life by means of the interactions in which the latter engage with those public servers labeled as Street-level bureaucrats by Michael Lipsky, such as policemen or schoolteachers. This article deals with this kind of encounters in the context of a Shipibo-Conibo community. The State that partakes in the commoners’ everyday experience, through the actions (and omissions) of the school teachers stationed in the schools located in their community, shows discriminating and colonizing nature through its actions (and omissions). Furthermore, it does not satisfy its citizens’ expectations or help them accomplish their life-projects. Given this situation, commoners demand a better educational service and respect for their ethnic particularities.

Juan Ansión: trayectoria profesional y aportes a la antropología peruana
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Fondo Editorial, 2018-12-21) Ames, Patricia
This article addresses the professional trajectory of the Belgian-Peruvian anthropologist and sociologist Juan Ansión. His main research interests and his development over the years are presented, from his early work around mythical thinking in the Andean world to his sustained commitment to the issue of education in rural communities, expectations and projects on education and migration, and the impact of political violence in school. An issue that intersects the previous two - interculturality - arises from the need to conceptualize a new proposal that allows us to understand and challenge the relations of subordination and discrimination between cultures that Peruvian society experiences. Ansión will contribute significantly to the discussion around interculturality to this day, covering not only education, but also new fields, such as justice and health. The article addresses his role as a university professor, first at the National University of San Cristóbal de Huamanga - with which he maintained a close relationship over the years - and then at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, where he taught throughout more than three decades.
