In their first contact with the professional world, law students experience diverse situations in which the law that regulates their internships is violated. In this research, we seek to understand how law students formulate those experiences, that is, the way in which they give them a particular meaning. Drawing from hermeneutical approaches to psychoanalysis, we start by recognizing that the way in which people formulate their experiences is not neutral: between different possible meanings, people elude those that show an intolerable image of themselves and their context. In this paper, we argue that law students don’t formulate the situations they experience, in which regulation and their rights are violated, as illegalities and violations of professional ethics standards. On the contrary, in different manners, they justify what happens, adapting to the events with fatalistic views of the professions’ environment, which is presented as not regulated. This occurs in an institutional context (that of law schools) where these problematic situations are not recognized and are not pedagogically addressed, which makes it more difficult for law students to formulate them differently. By gaining consciousness on how they formulate their experiences and trying different formulations, law students’ might develop and increase their agency, in order to deal with situations in which regulation is infringed in the professional context.

Home visits are an intervention instrument of the Unified Social Assistance System and the main link between teams and families. This qualitative research aimed to understand the experience of home visits, from the perspective of families monitored by the Unified Social Assistance System. So, 12 in-depth interviews were conducted with people from the families visited. The data were organized and analyzed from the perspective of Grounded Theory, with the aid of the software Atlas.Ti 8.4. The results showed families with histories of vulnerabilities and violence, the interviewees were unaware of the reason for the home visit and built ambivalent bonds with the professionals. The need to reflect on the proposal of the community bond and the objectives of home visits, between families and professionals, is highlighted.

This paper offers an analysis of Spinoza’s concept of love based on the Treatise on the Emendation of the Intellect, the Short Treatise on God and the Ethics. Spinoza’s concept of love must be understood within his critical phenomenology of affects and his theory of knowledge. Thus understood, Spinoza’s concept of love entails that how we love —actively or passively— is more important than any normative distinction among objects of love. This reading of Spinoza’s concept of love is compatible with his ethical premises and his ontological monism, and with his understanding of love as an activity of the Substance.

Psicología, política y poesía en República IV y X
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Departamento de Humanidades, 2022-03-28) Soares, Lucas
In this paper, I argue that in the Republic the possibility of a good koinōnia is hindered by the emotional potency and psychological perversion of mimetic-pleasurable poetry, which stimulates and strengthens the irrational part of the soul of its recipients through the imitation of characters linked to desire and anger. To this end, I examine, first, some of the passages in Republic IV in which it is possible to subscribe to the priority of the psychic tripartition over the political tripartition. Secondly, I point out some of the central features of the psychological critique of mimetic-pleasurable poetry in Republic X.

Koinōnia and the Psychology of Possession
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Departamento de Humanidades, 2022-03-28) Konrádová, Veronika
This paper addresses the concept of koinōnia discussed in Plato’s Republic. It focuses on the specific ways the term enters the discussion about social organisation within the guardian class, such as the proposal for abolishing a nuclear family in favour of the community of wives and children. The paper aims to reveal the psychological basis connecting Plato’s socio-economic proposals to his principal ethical and political concerns. It examines (i) the argument supporting the proposals of the social organisation of the guardians, (ii) the psychological background of these proposals, (iii) the socio-cultural context against which these proposals are defined and (iv) the position of these considerations in the broader scheme of Plato’s thought.
