Agencia personal y bienestar subjetivo en mujeres privadas de su libertad

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como propósito investigar la relación entre la Agencia Personal y Empoderamiento con los componentes del Bienestar Subjetivo: Satisfacción con la vida, Afectos positivos y Afectos negativos, en mujeres privadas de su libertad. Para este propósito las participantes fueron 82 mujeres con edades entre 18 y 57 años (M=32,43; DE=7,73) y se utilizó la Escala de Agencia personal y Empoderamiento (ESAGE) (Pick et al., 2007), la Escala de Satisfacción con la vida (SWLS) (Diener et al., 1985) y la Escala de Afectos positivo y negativos (PANAS) (Watson et al., 1988). Se encontró que existe una relación positiva entre Agencia personal y Empoderamiento con Satisfacción con la vida y Afectos positivos, y una relación negativa entre Agencia personal y Empoderamiento con Afectos negativos. Además, se encontró que en relación al grupo de mujeres privadas de su libertad del estudio muestran un puntaje medio en Agencia personal y Empoderamiento, se encuentran entre ligeramente satisfechas y satisfechas con su vida, y reportan una prevalencia de afectos positivos sobre los negativos. Por último, se encontraron diferencias significativas en la Agencia personal y Empoderamiento según grado de instrucción, en Afectos positivos según la variable visita y tiempo de reclusión, y en Afectos negativos según la variable pareja.

This research aims to investigate the relationship between Personal Agency and Empowerment with the components of Subjective well-being: Satisfaction with life, Positive affect and Negative affect in incarcereted women. The participants were 82 women aged between 18 and 57 years (M = 32,43; SD =7,73) and used the Personal Agency and Empowerment Scale (ESAGE) (Pick et al., 2007), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) (Diener et al., 1985) and the Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) (Watson et al., 1988). We found that there is a positive relationship between Personal Agency and Empowerment with Satisfaction with life and Positive affect, and a negative relationship between Personal Agency and Empowerment with Negative affect. In addition, the group of encarcerated women show an average score in Personal agency and Empowerment, they are among slightly satisfied and satisfied with their lives, and reported a prevalence of positive affect in the emotional balance. Finally, found significant differences in Personal agency and Empowerment between people with different educational level, in Positive affect between people with and without visits and depending on time in prison, and in Negative Affect according to relationship variable.
