Abstract
Various studies show a relationship between linguistic abilities and the understanding of false beliefs. However, there is no consensus on which of the language components corresponds in the best way to this task. Some studies show a greater relationship between the semantic aspects and others point to the syntactic component. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the comprehension of phrases and linguistic concepts with the comprehension of false beliefs in children of 5 and 6 years of state educational institutions of initial level of the city of Chiclayo. This study was given under a quantitative approach with a correlational scope. The sample consisted of 47 boys and girls from pre-school 5-year-old classrooms who were evaluated with the Phrase Comprehension and Linguistic Concepts subtest of the Clinical Assessment of Language Fundamentals (CELF-5) and the first-order false belief task proposed by Perner et al. (1987). At the end of this investigation, the relationship between the comprehension of phrases and linguistic concepts with the comprehension of first-order false beliefs was accepted, as well as the correlation of each of the linguistic tasks with the comprehension of false beliefs at a medium positive level.
