Abstract
The present investigation, entitled Profile of conversational skills according to sex in five-year-old children of a public school in the district of San Juan de Luriganchoin the year 2021, allows to verify the level of development of conversational skillsin this preschool stage, to grant thus, the necessary relevance in linguistic empowerment and rehabilitation programs, as well as in the school curriculum, dueto its impact on later stages. The objective was to determine the differences inthe profile of conversational skills according to gender, postulating that these arestatistically significant. For the research, the Pragmatic Language Assessment Protocol (PEP-L) of Higuera and Romero (s.f.) was administered online, which analyzes the pragmatic components of: quality of the enunciative act, propositional act, social organization of discourse, variety of speech acts and break repair. These dimensions respond to the definitions postulated by some authors (Acuña and Sentis, 2004; Serra et al., 2000) on the aspects involved in conversational skills. An descriptive and cross-sectional research design was used, with a sample of 5 girls and 5 boys. The results showed a higher performance by the group of women in contrast to that of men at the level of the average percentage; however, the differences were not statistically significant, that is, both groups are within the same set. It will be important to follow the recommendations presented for a future study, considering the scarcity of existing research.
