Infancia en prisión: Análisis de la atención que brinda un centro penitenciario a los derechos fundamentales de los niños y niñas que viven con sus madres en condición de reclusión

Abstract

La investigación aborda la atención que brinda un centro penitenciario a los derechos fundamentales de los niños que viven allí mientras sus madres se encuentran en reclusión. El objetivo general es analizar la percepción que tienen los especialistas que laboran en el centro penitenciario acerca de la atención que brinda dicho centro a los derechos de los niños. Como objetivos específicos se tienen: describir la percepción que tienen los especialistas sobre la atención al derecho a la familia, salud, alimentación y educación que ofrece el centro penitenciario a los niños; y finalmente, identificar los factores que inciden en la atención a los derechos de los niños en una institución penitenciario. La investigación es de enfoque cualitativo, de nivel descriptivo utiliza la técnica de la entrevista y como instrumento una entrevista semiestructurada. Se concluye que, las especialistas consideran que el centro penitenciario atiende adecuadamente los derechos de los niños. Sin embargo, existe preocupación por el protocolo que sigue el centro ante una emergencia médica, el espacio reducido la educación de los niños y la poca interacción con sus otros familiares, entre otros.

The research addresses the attention that a penitentiary center provides to the fundamental rights of the children who live there while their mothers are in prison. The general objective is to analyze the perception that the specialists who work in the penitentiary center have about the attention that the center provides to the rights of children. The specific objectives are: to describe the perception that specialists have about the attention to the right to the family, health, food and education that the penitentiary center offers to children; and finally, to identify the factors that affect attention to the rights of children in a penitentiary institution. The research has a qualitative approach, at a descriptive level, it uses the interview technique and a semistructured interview as an instrument. It is concluded that the specialists consider that the penitentiary center adequately addresses the rights of children. However, there is concern about the protocol that the center follows in the event of a medical emergency, the reduced space for the children's education and the little interaction with their other relatives, among others.
