varias comunidades.
This research aims to find the way in which the ethics of representation influences the theater, seen as an instrument for social transformation in Hispano-America during the last 20 years. It seeks to argue that this takes place when representing a person, community, story or symbol of great personal or collective significance, a deconstruction of the representative takes place and allows the empowerment of what is represented, without letting victimization or ridicule happen. The theory of the ethics of representation developed by José Antonio Sánchez is going to be used to address examples of scenic performances of the Hispano-American social and political theater, with the goal of identifying, or not, the influence of the ethics of representation in each one of them. Finding the proposals exposed mainly by Jerzy Grotowski and Eduardo Pavlosky, so that performing artists can identify them and used them to tell stories responsibly, especially those that have a strong social and political purpose, as they present an intense sensitivity in the collective memory of one or several communities.
