Resumen
El objetivo general de la presente investigación fue describir las dimensiones de las
comunidades profesionales de aprendizaje en una institución educativa privada
religiosa desde las percepciones de los directivos, mientras que los objetivos
específicos se enfocaron, primero, en identificar los atributos de las dimensiones
de las comunidades profesionales de aprendizaje, y segundo, examinar las
estrategias que se relacionan con la promoción de dichas dimensiones. La
producción corresponde al enfoque cualitativo trabajándose con dos categorías de
análisis: la primera, los atributos de las dimensiones de las comunidades
profesionales de aprendizaje; y la segunda, las estrategias relacionadas a la
promoción de las dimensiones de las comunidades profesionales de aprendizaje.
Respecto al recojo de información se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada como
técnica de investigación y el guion de entrevista como instrumento, este último fue
validado por tres especialistas y aplicado a siete miembros del equipo directivo de
la institución educativa bajo criterios de inclusión y exclusión. A continuación, se
desarrolló una matriz que permitió facilitar la organización de la información, así
también, para el respectivo análisis de la misma se emplearon las técnicas open y
axial coding. De esta manera el análisis y discusión de los resultados permitió
identificar que las dimensiones misión, visión y valores compartidos, el liderazgo
compartido y de soporte, y las condiciones de soporte, presentan una serie de
atributos resaltantes que permiten sugerir un buen nivel de desarrollo de los mismos
en la institución educativa. Por otro lado, en referencia a las dimensiones restantes
como son la práctica profesional compartida y unificada, y el aprendizaje colectivo
y reflexivo, al observarse solo algunos de sus atributos, se puede colegir que estas
se hallan en un estado inicial de desarrollo debido – probablemente – a la falta de
políticas institucionales específicas que las impulsen.
The general objective of this research was to describe the dimensions of professional learning communities in a religious private educational institution from the perspective of its school management team. The specific objectives were focused, first of all, on identify the attributes of the dimensions of professional learning communities, and second, on examine the strategies that are related to the promotion of these dimensions. This study corresponds to the qualitative approach, working with two categories of analysis: the first one concerns the attributes of the dimensions of professional learning communities; and the second one, the strategies related to the promotion of the dimensions of professional learning communities. With respect to data collection, a semi-structured interview was used as the research technique and the interview script as the instrument, which was validated by three specialists and applied to seven members of the school management team under inclusion and exclusion criteria. After that, a matrix was built to organize and analyze the information collected, this latter was done through open and axial coding techniques. The corresponding analysis and discussion of the results made it possible to identify that the dimensions of shared mission, vision and values, shared and supportive leadership, and support conditions, display a series of outstanding attributes which allow to suggest that there is a good level of development of them in this educational institution. On the other hand, in reference to the remaining dimensions such as shared and unified professional practice, and collective and reflective learning, as only some of their attributes were observed, it can be inferred that they are in an initial state of development due to the lack of specific institutional policies that promote them.
