Abstract
The present research entitled "Descriptive study on the auditory association and auditory comprehension in children of 4 and 5 years of the CEP La Salle Lima", aims to determine the characteristics of the auditory association and auditory understanding in children of 4 and 5 years of the CEP La Salle Lima. The method used for this investigation was quantitative. For the collection of the information, the Auditory Association and Auditory Comprehension Subtest of the Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Aptitudes (ITPA) were used in children of 4 and 5 years of age from a private institution in the district of Breña. The first Subtest evaluates the ability of children to complete verbal analogies that go in increasing difficulty while the second evaluates the ability to obtain meaning from orally presented material. The results concluded that both groups reached an average performance level for both variables: auditory comprehension and auditory association. In relation to the linguistic age, both the group of 4 and 5 years were placed at a level below chronological age in relation to the auditory comprehension variable, but not in the auditory association.
