Depression is one of the psychological disorders that affects more people around the world, however, little is known about how it can affect those who follow the acting profession, especially if they use acting resources that put their emotional stability at risk. Emotional memory is one of the most used resources in acting in the current 21st century, however, it is a risky technique for the actor's mental health because it works with personal memories of his past that have a high emotional intensity and that most of them are traumatic and / or loss experiences. Faced with this problem, the present research analyzes how the use of emotional memory influences the development of depression in the actors who currently follow this technique. To link both phenomena, the psychological concepts of emotional dysregulation, rumination and mourning are explored, since it is suggested that the use of emotional memory can promote emotional deregulation in the actor, as well as aggravation of the state of mourning and rumination about traumatic and/or loss events experiences of his past.
