This study aims to analyze the political discourse of Pedro Castillo on the social network Twitter during his presidential term, particularly in response to crisis situations. The specific objectives include identifying and analyzing the themes and crisis issues addressed by Castillo, evaluating the evolution of the tone and style of his political discourse on Twitter, and determining the public perception of the effectiveness of his discourse in crisis management and its impact on the perception of his government. The methodology used for this study was qualitative, based on critical discourse analysis and content analysis, allowing the examination of the tone and style of Castillo's tuits and how they varied throughout his term in response to crisis situations. The main inputs for the study consisted of a selection of tuits from Pedro Castillo and data related to the six key crises during his term. The study results show that the tone and style of Castillo's discourse evolved from a more conciliatory tone to a defensive and confrontational one, especially during significant crisis situations, such as the impediment to leave the country and attempts to remove him. The public perception of the effectiveness of his discourse was mixed, with criticisms towards his defensive and confrontational tone, and others that supported his narrative of resistance against political opposition. The study concludes that political communication on Twitter can significantly impact public perception and government stability. Using defensive and confrontational tones can contribute to polarization, while a more transparent and coherent communication can help maintain stability and public trust. The recommendations suggest developing clear communication strategies, promoting public participation and dialogue, and avoiding confrontational rhetoric to reduce polarization and improve public perception of the government.
