Bufo versus Lacrónica. Derivas actuales de la producción de conocimiento en América Latina

Abstract

The amount of postgraduate dissertations in Communication that occur annually in Latin America would indicate that the area has a permanent power of results to disseminate. However, the impressions we have about the production of dissertations and master and doctoral theses do not confirm it. If at some point it was considered relevant to develop reasoning that would provoke existing knowledge, and invite them to think new realities and discuss old postulates about legitimized theories, today new writings are adapted to meet the guidelines of research projects oriented by sequential objectives in which proposals in particular do not excel, and therefore do not off er striking results. Should this worry us if the social sciences claim to have visibility and social value? The present text analyzes why in these models of academic production there are few novelties and only off ers some alternatives to rethink the relevance, a key aspect and of interest for researchers that promote the generation of knowledge for the social fabric around ALAIC.

La cantidad de tesis de posgrado en Comunicación que se producen anualmente en América Latina indicaría que el área dispone de una usina permanente de resultados para divulgar. Sin embargo, las impresiones que tenemos sobre la producción de disertaciones y tesis de maestría y doctorado no lo confirman. Si en algún momento se consideró relevante desarrollar razonamientos que provocasen a los conocimientos existentes, e invitasen a pensar nuevas realidades y discutir viejos postulados sobre las teorías legitimadas, hoy los nuevos escritos se acomodan a cumplir con las pautas de los proyectos de investigación orientados por objetivos secuenciales en los que no sobresalen proposiciones en particular, y no ofrecen, por tanto, resultados llamativos.¿Debe esto preocuparnos si las ciencias sociales pretenden tener visibilidad y valor social? El presente texto analiza por qué en esos modelos de producción académica hay pocas novedades y solo ofrece algunas alternativas para repensar las relevancias , un aspecto clave y de interés para los investigadores que promueven la generación de conocimientos para el tejido social en torno a ALAIC.
