Arte, paisaje y desierto: Emilio Rodríguez Larraín y la máquina de arcilla (1987)
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Fondo Editorial, 2024) Huaranga, Scolli
The relationship that Peruvian women and men have established with the desert has changed over time. Much of this relationship is reflected in the footprints they left on this sandy territory, which make us reflect on the worldview of the ancient Peruvian to the nature-desert relationship of the current inhabitants of the coast of Peru. This research suggests that the understanding of the endearing link between Peruvian society and the desert landscape occurs through art. The keys offered by this manifestation have something to say. The landscape is therefore potentially a canvas for different artistic manifestations and symbolic constructions of the Peruvian desert territory. The main case study will be the work of Emilio Rodríguez Larraín titled The Clay Machine.
