Ítem Acceso Abierto Redes de colaboración y producción de patentes en universidades de la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (UCAN) 2005 – 2017(Consorcio Iberoamericano para la Educación en Ciencia y Tecnología (ISTEC), 2018) Agüero Aguilar, Carlos EnriqueIntroduction: Making visible the dynamics of collaboration between universities and inventors, as well as the thematic networks, is fundamental to establish future technological development strategies. The Universities of the Andean Community of Nations (UCAN) face complex contexts such as FTAs and the entry of low-cost products and technologies, which affects competitiveness and the development of their own capacities. Materials and methods: The patents published by the UCAN between 2005 - 2017 in Espacenet were analyzed. UCINET and NETDRAW were applied to make collaborative networks (AR) visible. The results of the RA were compared with the volume of publication, in order to validate the importance of each node within the networks. Results: 666 patents were identified, 285 (43%) were published in the last two years. 231 (34.7%) were published outside the CAN and 435 (65.3%) within it. 69.4% of patents are original inventions and 30% utility models. Colombia leads the decentralization of collaboration among universities (17 collaborative patents). Peru only has one. We identified 1350 inventors (mostly from the region), which reflects a limited collaboration with other regions. Conclusions: The publication of patents has doubled in the last two years (compared to 2005 - 2015). In 2016, Peru for the first time equals Colombia in patent publication. Colombia, since 2009 continues to be at the forefront in decentralized collaboration and Peru has only a collaborative patent in 2017. Bolivia and Ecuador are still behind.
