Estudio de los efectos de la dilatación térmica en tuberías mediante simulación numérica

Abstract
Esta tesis establece un procedimiento de análisis de las tensiones generadas por la
dilatación térmica en tres arreglos de tuberías: una tubería simple enterrada, una tubería
con un cambio de dirección de 90° y una tubería enterrada con un cambio de dirección de
90°.
Para darle solución a cada uno de los casos se analizan los esfuerzos térmicos por dos
vías diferentes: la simulación numérica mediante el programa ANSYS y por teorías de
resistencia de materiales. El planteamiento de estos dos métodos da la ventaja de
corroborar los valores obtenidos verificando que sean similares entre sí y a la vez analizar
los comportamientos complejos de ciertos parámetros en la tubería.
Para plantear el análisis por resistencia de materiales se explica los siguientes conceptos:
dilatación térmica, esfuerzo térmico, longitud virtual entre apoyos, modelo analítico del
terreno, flexión en vigas, vigas sobre fundación elástica y teorías de falla. Junto con los
conocimientos anteriores es posible, para cada caso, simplificar el modelo teórico y así
obtener valores de tensión crítica por medio del procedimiento realizado con los
conceptos estudiados.
Luego se plantea el estudio por simulación numérica usando modelos lineales para las
tuberías y de resortes para el terreno. Se confirma la validez de la simulación como
método de análisis al contratar valores con el planteamiento teórico y obtener porcentajes
de similitud del grado del 83 – 98 %.
Además es posible analizar con mayor profundidad cada caso ya que la simulación da las
herramientas suficientes para ver el comportamiento de la dilatación y fuerza a lo largo de
la tubería y obtener los esfuerzos máximos (que varían de 35 a 166 MPa según el arreglo
de tubería) para realizar un análisis de fallas.
