magnético.; The development of soft robotics is driving the use of new or innovative materials that meet the
necessary requirements and demands in this area. In this context, so-called smart materials are
of particular importance. These materials have the unique ability to change their properties
under the influence of physical variables, e.g., depending on temperature, external magnetic
fields, and electric fields. One such smart material, which was only used as a toy in the past,
is polyborosiloxane, also known colloquially as "silly putty". Due to its non-Newtonian properties,
it has a wide range of applications. In order to be able to influence the behavior of
polyborosiloxane by an external magnetic field, composites with a matrix of polyborosiloxane
and particles of carbonyl iron powder were synthesized and investigated in the present
work. The above components were mixed by hand after synthesizing the polyborosiloxane
from polydimethylsiloxane and boric acid, varying the mass fraction of particles added to the
polymer from 20% to 80% in steps of 20%. First, a series of rheological tests were carried out
to characterize and compare the resulting samples in terms of their storage and loss modulus.
A Helmholtz coil, which is characterized by a constant and homogeneous magnetic field in
the middle of the coils, was used to influence the flow behavior of the material in the Earth’s
gravitational field by means of a magnetic field. The results obtained from the experiments
show the ability of the material to maintain a desired shape for longer under the influence of
a magnetic field.

bórico no reaccionado.
1 Hz.; Polyborosiloxane, also known as Shear Stiffening Gel, is a silicon-based elastomer resulting from
the modification of polydimethylsiloxane with B(OH)x groups. This material possesses exceptional
properties, including unique viscoelasticity and self-healing ability. Its chemical structure
explains two entirely reversible mechanical behaviors: at low stress rates, polyborosiloxane exhibits
a viscous fluid behavior due to the relaxation of dynamic bonds, and at high stress rates,
its behavior transitions from viscous to rubbery as a result of the locking of these dynamic
bonds. Previous investigations have explored the relationship between the chemical structure
and its properties. However, there is insufficient information regarding the influence of synthesis
methods and different stimuli (vibrations or magnetic field) for its application in soft
robotics.
In this thesis, various polyborosiloxane samples were created using polydimethylsiloxanes with
two different viscosities, one being higher than the other. These samples are divided into three
categories. The first category consists of pure polyborosiloxanes synthesized with the mentioned
polydimethylsiloxane precursors. The second category involves synthesized samples by mixing
the two polydimethylsiloxane precursors in different weight ratios (20/80, 40/60, 60/40, and
80/20). The third group includes samples formed by mixing the two pure polyborosiloxanes of
the first category in the same ratios as the second group.
The rheological properties of these samples are evaluated through amplitude and frequency
sweep tests. Additionally, various techniques are employed to characterize the chemical structure
and morphology, revealing the diverse bonds present in the samples. To explore the impact
of vibrations on polyborosiloxane properties, a shape change test is conducted at various vibration
frequencies to identify the frequencies at which a semi-spherical polyborosiloxane sample
exhibits the lowest and highest deformation rates under its own weight in a gravitational field.
The characterization results reveal the presence of characteristic chemical bonds Si-O-B in the
structure of the synthesized polyborosiloxane samples, along with traces of unreacted boric
acid. The analysis based on rheological testing leads to the conclusion that the samples from
the second category, involving the mixing of polydimethylsiloxane precursors, display a more
homogeneous distribution compared to those in the third category. Moreover, in the samples
of the third category, the addition of polyborosiloxane synthesized with the lower viscosity precursor
starts to influence on the rheological behavior for values over 40 %of this material. The
shape change graphics demonstrate the impact of mechanical stimuli on the shape-retainability
of polyborosiloxane. Therefore, for the polyborosiloxane sample made with the lower viscosity
precursor, the highest and lowest deformations were observed at 0 Hz and 1 Hz, respectively.
In contrast, for the other sample, these frequencies were recorded at 5 Hz and 1 Hz.

Pt-Pd/SnO2.; The aim of this thesis is to differentiate the varieties of Pisco (Italia and Quebranta) that act
in accordance with the Denomination of Origin, as well as the differentiation of Pisco
Quebranta with mixtures adulterated with cane liquor in different proportions. For this
research, an electronic nose was used, constituted by an array of sensors based on metal
oxides (SnO2 and TiO2) and composites based on oxides mixtures in different proportions:
(SnO2/TiO2) 1:4, (SnO2/TiO2) 1:2 and (SnO2/TiO2) 4:1. These materials were doped with Pt
and/or Pd and additionally they were coated with zeolite-Y. This material works as a
molecular sieve that discriminates molecules by their size and shape. For the preparation of
metal oxides, the sol-gel method was used. And for doping, the wet impregnation method
was used. The characterization of the materials was performed using the following
techniques: XRD, SEM-ED and XRF, with these techniques was possible the determination
of the crystalline structures and the presence of dopants was confirmed. Raman
spectroscopy confirmed the presence of surface oxygen vacancies, it was associated with
the increase of the sensor response.
The information obtained from the sensing analysis was processed using the Principal
Component Analysis (PCA) technique. This technique is a multivariate statistical method
that produces new variables, called principal components from linear transformations of the
original variables, in such a way that these new variables maximize the Total Variance that
indicates the confidence level of the results. The PCA allows to visualize the differentiation
between the varieties of Pisco, as well as the differentiation against an adulterated Pisco.
The sensors that showed a good differentiation of the Pisco samples according to the Italia
and Quebranta varieties are: (SnO2/TiO2)1:4, (SnO2/TiO2)1:2, (SnO2/TiO2) 4:1, 0.05% Pt
(SnO2/TiO2) 4:1, 0.1% Pt (SnO2/TiO2)4:1, 0.05% -0.05% Pt-Pd(SnO2/TiO2) 4:1, 0.05% -0.1%
Pt-Pd(SnO2/TiO2) 4:1, 0.1% Pt/SnO2 and 0.05% -0.1% Pt/SnO2.
The (SnO2/TiO2) 4:1 sensor is the one that shows greater sensitivity and greater capacity to
differentiate the mixtures of Pisco with cane liquor (CA), especially in the mixtures with lower
concentration of CA. Besides, the differentiation capacity improves with the zeolite-Y coating
in the following sensors: 0.1% Pt/SnO2 and 0.05%-0.1% Pt-Pd/SnO2.

This work focuses on the characterization of the mucilage of the cactus Echinopsis pachanoi (E. pachanoi) and development of bioplastics from mucilage E.pachanoi and algae from Peruvian coast such Ulva nematoidea and Chondracanthus chamissoi.
An effective process for obtaining E. pachanoi mucilage powder was developed. FTIR, DSC and TGA tests of the mucilage powder allowed to know its initial characteristics. Likewise, the rheological studies of the E. pachanoi gel resulted in a predominantly elastic behavior and reversible deformation.
Films based on blends of E. pachanoi mucilage, ulva and carrageenan were made developed. The main results indicated that mucilage promote, depending on the type of the mixture, the modification of the thermic and mechanical properties of the films. In the case of the film of mucilage and carrageenan, a more flexible and less resistant material is obtained; on the contrary, the mixture with ulvan, more rigid and resistant material is obtained.
The present work results indicate that biopolymers as E. pachanoi mucilage, carrageenan, which are abundant, renewable, biodegradable and non-toxic materials for humans, can be used to manufacture bioplastics that, in the future, they can cover demands for edible coatings and other uses.
