Item Metadata only Empleo y desempleo: un análisis de la elaboración de estadísticas(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Fondo Editorial, 1999) Garavito, CeciliaThe series of .employment and unemployment are fundamental pieces for the analysis of the effects of the economic policy on the well being of households. The divergence between which the public perceives like a problem of lack of employment and what the government affirms, that the problem is only one of low income, makes it necessary to review these series. Two are the problems mentioned on the quality of the series in our country. In the first place, the almost continuous growth of employment as measured by the series obtained from the National Survey of Households. (NSH), as opposed to the descend of the employment in the modern sector, measured by the series obtained from the Survey of Variation of Employment (SVE). Reasons that could be explaining this divergence to a certain extent are: differences in the universes of the sources used, faults in the registration of temporary employment and changes in the questionnaires of the surveys, the sample cover and its design. Secondly, the little variation of the rate of open unemployment and its low level, which would be explained by slants in the processing of the NSH, by the way to measure the indicator, and by the problem not yet solved of hidden unemployment.Item Metadata only El Perú frente a los procesos de integración en los noventa(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Fondo Editorial, 1999) Fairlie Reinoso, AlanThis paper develops an overview about the complex group of intemational simultaneous negotiations of Peru. The paper looks for a first group view vision of them. The Peruvian participation in these agreements is different in terms of compromises, because of its position in each scheme of integration and the weight we have in them. As we know, there are most pronounced asymmetries inner each block about the leve1 of development and advantages, that takes us to analyze the commitments maintained in each of the agreements in terms of schedules and schemes of liberalization.Item Metadata only El gobierno corporativo(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Fondo Editorial, 1999) Jiménez, FélixThis essay shows that the neoliberal adjustment program has reprimarized the Peruvian economy and has truncated the industrialization process. As a result of this adjustment, the manufacturing industry has lost its leadership and its international competitiveness, and the externa1 bottleneck has been exacerbated. The productive structure created by such policies has been unable to generate enough number of jobs, even when the economy was growing during 1993-1995 and 1997. Moreover, the new productive structure does not reflect either to be part of a restructuring process oriented to solve the old fundamental problems of the Peruvian economy. With the reprimarization, the Peruvian economy comes into the XX1 century, with the same problems of the 5Os, but worsened by the negative effects of neoliberal policies on the manufacturing industry, on the leve1 of employment and income and, consequently, on the quality of life of a large number of people.
